The concept of Junior Tradesman first hit Bradley Orkin when he was in his local hardware store with his young son, Ben. A plumber by trade, Bradley often allowed Ben to work alongside him. He knew that Ben thoroughly enjoyed himself when he was allowed to ‘play plumber’, and he realised that while playing, Ben was also learning an enormous amount.

As he stood there in the hardware shop in his native Cape Town, Bradley started to think about products designed specifically for children. As the seed took root, he knew that he had to take it further. So convinced was he in his radical new concept that he sold everything he had from his house to his bike in order to fund the research and development.

Junior Tradesman First House~

First House comes with paper plans and all the components needed to create a real scale-model house! At any stage, the components can be taken apart again. When your child is ready to go again, all he or she needs to do is add a little water to the mortar and it’s ready, steady go!

The Garage comes with all the necessary materials as well as plans both for building a stand alone unit or for joining it to the House with extra bricks left over.It even comes with a plastic groundsheet for building on as well as a FREE Die Cast car! And as with all Junior Tradesman products, the whole thing can be dismantled and rebuilt days later.

Free Play provides building components but no specific plans. Children are presented with windows, lintels, mortar and bricks and the rest is up to their imagination! Free Play can be used on its own by beginners or in conjunction with the Garage or House for children who are ready to go further.

All you need to do is add water to the powder in the tub and mix slowly until the paste is formed.
And don’t forget - brick mix can be used three or four times over!
