Building on the functionality of the standard Montecarlo, R1 is equipped with an ISOFIX anchoring system for the base of the seat, which combined with the child retention system, affords the seat greater stability.

Due to its ISOFIX connections, it has additional safety features over all other Group 2 & 3 car seats: The ISOFIX system anchors the seat directly to the car thereby eliminating any margin for error when installing the seat, and there's no need to strap the seat in when not in use, as it's always connected by the ISOFIX. Very convenient when dropping your child off at school or the child minder.

The seat can be installed with or without ISOFIX as it also uses the 3 point seat belt.

This standard Montecarlo R1 is a group 2-3 car seat suitable from 3 to 12 years (15 - 36kg). This item includes the Xtend which can be used to make the car seat suitable from 9 months (9kg). Xtend impact shield is a protective cushion that provides a safe and comfortable alternative to a harness. When installed on a compatible Jane Group 2-3 seat, the seat can be used as a Group 1-2-3 seat, extending the car seat's age range. This easy to use accessory means that children of between 9-18kg (Group 1) can safely travel in seats that are designed for Group 2-3.
